Disney and ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ Give One Couple the Royal Treatment

Last week, I hinted that a huge Disney dream-come-true would take place for one couple set to appear on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” The episode told the fairytale story of Jessica and Joey, a couple who met while acting in a local production of “Cinderella.” In addition to acting, the couple had a lot in common – especially a love for all-things Disney.

Joey recently wrote a letter to “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” asking if someone could help make his girlfriend’s dream of being Cinderella for a day come true. With a little help from the Mouse, the couple were soon on their way to the Walt Disney World Resort.

During their trip, the couple received the royal treatment, riding down Main Street, U.S.A., in Cinderella’s Coach, and later meeting Cinderella and Prince Charming for a private meet and greet.

The couple returned to “The Oprah Winfrey Show” May 5 to share clips from their dream-come-true experience and during the segment, Joey surprised Jessica by proposing marriage.

Much to the newly-engaged couple’s surprise, “The Oprah Winfrey Show” had arranged for even more Disney magic to help them get started on their “happily ever after.” Jessica and Joey received a wedding for 100 guests from Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings, complete with a ceremony at Disney’s Fairytale Wedding Pavilion and private fireworks. The newlyweds will spend their wedding night at the Cinderella Castle Suite inside Magic Kingdom Park, and spend their honeymoon aboard Disney Cruise Line.

Disney also presented the entire studio audience with a Disney Parks giftbasket, which included a Duffy the Disney Bear and a $200 Disney Gift Card.
