From the wilds of #SouthAfrica to the heart of #Mumbai! Leopards aren't the only animals we've encountered in the Sabi Sands, South Africa. We’ve had some amazing lion sightings over the past couple of weeks including this big male. After filling up on a giraffe carcass, he went to rest under the stars in a dried up river bed. A century ago, an estimated 200,000 lions roamed wild in Africa; now, less than 30,000 remain. National Geographic launched the Big Cats Initiative to raise awareness and implement change to the dire situation facing all big cats.
