But honestly, once you experienced this new world, you became addicted to it and you wanna swim with every kind of fish and marine mammals. I had the chance to swim with two whale sharks when I was in Ningaloo Reef Marine Park, near Exmouth (Western Australia). The whale shark is the biggest fish on Earth and can reach up to 18m in length and have mouths over a meter wide ! Ningaloo Reef is the only place in Australia you can swim with them, from April to July. The ones I swam with were 5m long, and if they were not the biggest ones, the feeling to swim next and behind them was absolutely indescribable. It’s fascinating to see how peacefully this fish swim in the ocean. I was only 3m away from his fin and 2m away from his mouth and he just doesn’t care. What a beautiful creature. I love this feeling of being tiny in comparison to another living being. This top 30 is not really a top with a podium as it’s just my 30 best memories in chronological order, but if had to do a Top 5, this swim with the whale sharks would definitely be in it ! These fishes can be found pretty much in every oceans of the world, so you have heaps of opportunities to swim with them.
