Comparateur de voyages http://www.hotels-live.com/ : @jaydickmanphoto. A nearly-full Milky Way is seen above my cabin at the CM Ranch in Dubois Wyoming. This photo was taken during one of this summers National Geographic's "Wyoming's Cowboy Country" Photography Workshop, which will be held twice in summer of 2016. This photo was shot with an Olympus E-M1 and an 8mm f1.8 lens, 50 seconds @f1.8, 2500 ISO. When photographing stars, a good method is to use the "500" rule. Divide the focal length of your lens by 500 to obtain the longest exposure you can use before getting "star trails." So, dividing that 500 by 8 is 62.5, the longest shutter speed I could have used after which I would have seen streaks. Shooting in an area like Dubois, on a moonless night, really allows the star field to shine (an unintended play on words!!) @thephotosociety @natgeocreative Hotels-live.com via instagram.com/p/7tbOs4IMTz/ Comparateur Hotels-live.com www.facebook.com/125048940862168/photos/a.100979375905434... via http://flic.kr/p/xLUrod
